Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire MEP, Mike Hookem has sympathised with people hit by the unprecedented Christmas flooding saying, “My heart goes out to those all those affected”; while slamming the government for “ignoring the abject misery, disruption and damage caused by flooding” in favour of “pouring billions into vanity projects such as HS2”.
Speaking after many areas of Northern England, including his Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire constituency fell victim to massive flooding on Christmas and Boxing Day; Mr Hookem said, “Flooding is terrible at any time of year, but it must be particularly hard during the festive period.”
“While flooding has brought a premature end to Christmas for many across the North of England, the government is still wheeling out the same tied excuses for its repeated failures to invest in and properly manage flood defences across the country.”

Put together the 100 top paying jobs cost the taxpayer £40 million of hard earned taxpayers money. This is made up of basic salary, generous EU taxation, side benefits and pensions. The lists of the Top Ten highest paid EU Commissioners, EU Judges, EU Bankers and EU Quangocrats can be downloaded here.
Douglas Carswell MP said, "the Eurocracy are like the Ancien Régime, they have forgotten nothing when it comes to their own personal advantages, yet have learned nothing from the years of economic chaos that they have presided over. It is time that the UK pulled out of this get rich scheme for the European Establishment".
The study breaks down the payments in a clear and unambiguous way showing that the fastest of the European fat cats are the Judges on the Various European Courts like the Irishman Kieran Bradley, who has risen via the European system, as a political researcher, through the College of Europe, via the European Parliament to his current position now. He has never worked in a normal legal practice either in Ireland or elsewhere before he was selected for this enormously powerful and well paid position.
The top Brit comes in at number 36, Nicholas Forwood, also a European judge.

The reason we’re having this holiday and the reason it’s called Christmas is that it’s Christian festival.
That means that whilst we have absolute respect for people of all religions from all over the world, regardless of whether they agree or support our faith, we as a country must be up standing and defend who we are.
We are a Christian country with a Christian constitution and a Christian monarch .
Whilst I would not ever present myself as being a person of deep religious conviction I absolutely believe in Christian values that have made this country great.
I want everybody, all 65 million of us, to have a happy Christmas if you are Christian and holiday if you’re not.
We can all look forward to 2016 where hopefully none of us attempt to impose our ideologies on anybody else.

According to the housing charity Shelter 103,000 children will be homeless during this Christmas. A seven year high. Homelessness has increased in our country for the fifth consecutive year. In London alone the number of renters becoming homeless has increased by a staggering 700 per cent in the last five years.
UKIP Housing Spokesman Andrew Charalambous said, "It's time the Government showed some compassion to our ever increasing homeless population. We at UKIP are demanding that government should start by ensuring homeless persons have full access to a GP, mental health professionals, optical and dental care".
"Too often our homeless fellow citizens are living on the periphery of society. Consequently, they are becoming the silent victims of violence, sexual exploitation and abuse. Government rather than cutting the Police budget should direct more Police resources into protecting the homeless."
